National Park news
Tongariro National Park staff have extensively upgraded the Alpine Garden at Whakapapa Village. The walking track through the garden has been sealed and visitors can now take a pleasant twenty minute stroll through the botanical garden without risk of getting their feet wet. Additional vegetation has 1 also been planted in the garden to make the walk more interesting. ★ ★ ★ Park Headquarters will soon have a new ranger on its staff. He is Mr Roy Grose, who will be transferring from the Bay of Islands Historical and Maritime Park.
★ ★ ★ Chief ranger at the park, Mr Bruce Jefferies, has recently returned to New Zealand after a six-week holiday to Nepal. He will write about his adventures in the Builetin later this month.
