Another win for Rebels

Raetihi Rebels met Taihape College at Waiouru on Saturday in a hockey game that made Rebels work. Scoring only one goal in the first half, Rebels failed to finish a number of attacks. Taihape had a strong defence and a fine display of goalkeeping was shown by the Taihape goalie. Rebels realised that if they were going to steer clear of danger they would have to score more goals.

The second half saw 3 goals which gave a four nil lead to Rebels. However, Taihape did not relent in their efforts and were soon rewarded with a goal. For Taihape a hard game was played by all. For Rebels, Joanne Oliver again played a safe game as did Cathy Francis, but Rebel's player of the day was Thelma Berry who worked very hard throughout the match.
