Rate valuers in town

Five Government valuers will begin a systematic tour of all properties in Ohakune on Monday 13th May, to carry out a five-yearly re-valuation for rates purposes. The valuers, who will come from Wanganui, will be in town for four to five weeks. Every property in Ohakune will be visited, but if occupants have any doubt about the identity of the valuers, they will produce identity cards on request. The new valuation rate will be effective from 1st July this year, although property owners won't receive notice of the new rates until October or November.
