World trip for Raetihi couple
Ann and Terry Ioannidis, owners of the Wellington Cafe in Raetihi for the past 24 years, are taking a break from the business for six months to holiday overseas. The trip, which starts on 15th May will be the first real holiday for Ann in eight years, and the first holiday for Terry in ten years. "We have had the odd day or week off, but we've never been away anywhere for a long time," says Ann. The couple will be circling the world in their six months away, beginning with the United States then on to Britain. Ann plans to visit Scotland, as she is originally from the South Island where, she says, everyone speaks of Scotland as 'home'. After Britain Ann and Terry plan to see Europe by train and visit Greece and Romania, where Terry has relatives. On the way home the couple will visit Australia. Venessa and Stefan, two of Ann and Terry's children will be running the cafe while their parents are away.
