Soccer
Waimarino United soccer club will begin the new season with its first league match after Easter. However, the club hopes to arrange a pre-season match against Taihape, who won the league last year, narrowly beating Waimarino United into second place. Coach Tom Ball would like to hear from any players in the area who would like to join the club this season. At the club's recent A.G.M. Rod Gill was elected president, John Laurenson secretary/ treasurer, Tom Ball coach/ manager and Dave Archibald assistant coach/ mana ger. An indoor five-a-sidfe soccer competition will again be held this season on Wednesday evenings.
