Boom in business
There has been a marked increase in saies of farm equipment in Raetihi and Ohakune over the past few months. The reason for the increase is because farmers are rushing to take advantage of the farming and agriculture investment allowance, which is to be discontiniied from 31st March. The allowance is set at twenty percent of the cost of new farming machinery. H.E. Webb Ltd, of Raetihi believes they may not be able to supply the recent demand for utilities and tractors. Reynolds Motors have also experienced an unseasonal increase in saies of implementsand lightcommercials over the last two months. Dave Scott, the vehicle and machinery salesman at Reynolds, says the most usual time for an increase in farm vehicle saies is from July to September.
