Racing with BULLY

As I predicted recently, the Matamata trainers, Dave and Paul O'Sullivan will be travelling to Australia with two top notchers from their stable and things look very* promising at present. The two horses concerned are Kind Regards and Ma Chiquita the latter having very recently won the Matamata Breeders Stakes over such good opposition

as Travel Light and Asta. Kind Regards has recently broken track records at both Ellerslie and Trentham so there is no doubting her class either. Ma Chiquita has so far had three starts and three wins so we can't get anything better than that. Dave O'Sullivan has made a number of visits across the Tasman and he has a most impressive record and this trip looks as though

he will carry on the good work. With the likely arrival of rain, watch out for the Levin trained Rebecca. This lady loves the sting out of the ground and the first easy track she strikes should see her back to winning form. Another Levin horse, Prince Royale is also waiting for an easy track and could come to hand fairly quickly.

Sovereign Parade has been pleasing Margaret Bull, the trainer at Awapuni and this fellow is expected to have a profitable season. The race for the leading jockey at present is starting to look like a one man race with David Walsh way out in front on 76 wins, fifteen ahead of second placed Maree Lyndon on 61 followed by Garry Phillips on 59 and David Peake on 53.

The trainers ladder is much closer with Graeme Rogerson in front on 39 closely chased by Paddy Busuttin on 37. Dave O'Sullivan and son are third on 31. One Central District horse that could pay off very soon, is Quickfire and punters are warned to stay with him. Remember Bully tips them first and you will read it in the Bulletin.
