Rugby club split

An argument about money has led to the Ohakune-Karioi B52 senior team resigning from the club, to branch out on their own. The dispute arose when the rugby club committee requested a balance of monies raised in the club's name through fund-raising ventures by the B52's. There was some concern expressed by members of the club, that they would be liable for any tax payments as a result of the amount raised. A letter was sent to the team and shortly thereafter, advertisements appeared in both the Waimarino Bulletin

and the Wanganui Chronicle stating that all past and present B52 team members, have disassociated themselves from the OhakuneKarioi Rugby Club.
