Megan Windle (pictured here) was one of the fourteen children who made the trip to her grandfather's farm. As well as petting and riding Sheba, the children helped feed a mother pig which had a litter of day-old piglets, watched a cow being milked and fed the chickens. The playcentre's supervisor, Linda Keith, takes the children to different places of interest every few weeks. She is currently arranging a trip to the Te Kohunga Reo, or Maori Language Nest, in Raetihi. Children can start at the playcentre when they reach the age of two years and six months, although younger children are welcomed — if they are accompanied by their parents.
