Ninety golfers in Waiouru Eagles event
A field of over 90 players took part in the annual Eagles golf tournament at the Waimarino Golf Club last Sunday. Members from the Waikato, Taranaki and Mana-watu-Wanganui Eagle Societies took part, as well as local players. Results of the tournament were as follows:
l.ocal ladies: Pixie Chambers Ist. 42 points: Pauline Mowat 2nd, 40 points: Rosalie Cioile 3rd. 39 points. I.ocal men: Terry Tapp Ist. 44 points: Ray Wood 2nd. 43 points; Tom Spry 3rd, 42 points. Eagles ladies: l.ouis Stephens,
Matiere, Ist, 38 points; Jan Watson, Waitotara. 2nd, 35 points. Eagles men: lvan Dubbar, Waitotara. Ist, 35 points; Hugh Naylor, Wanganui and Stan Holmes, Taihape, 2nd equal, 44 points.
Prizes were presented by Shirley Shand, wife of the patron of the Eagles society, from Palmerston North. Brian Dowsett provided a barbecue after the event.
