Big entry in collie trials
Several hundred collie dogs competed in the 63rd annual trials organised by the Raetihi Collie Club, last week-end. The trials were held on the property of Mr M. Wiggins and Sollitt syndicate or) Parapara Road. Results from the event were:
Long head and pull: Ist E. Smith (Kale) 97, 2nd N. Harper (King) 96'/, 3rd R. Berkahn (Vic) 96, 4th B. Parkinson (Sue) 95 1/2, 5th J. Lowes (Chief) 95'/, BraCelet — R. Berkahn (Vic). Short head and yard: 1st K. Berrett (King) 96, 2nd B. Burke (Lady) 95 3rd S. Montieth (Meg) 95, 4th R. Northcoll (Sail) 941/2, 5th J. Casford (Tiou) 93, B. Burke (Jet) 93. Huntaway: 1st W. Pullen (Wag)
97,2nd M. Toulmin(Precious)96!/, 3rd M. Devlin (Wag) 96, 4th D. Oldfield (Ben) 95'/2, 5th B. Journeaux(Rose) 95, Bracelet — M. Devlin (Wag). Straight hump: 1st W. Faulkner (Bloke) 97'/2, 2nd L. Ries (Kale) 97, 3rd D. White (Cloud) 96, 4th R. Haynes (Digger) 95, 5th D. Collins (Ben) 94%. The sheep worked well throughout the trials and the runs were excellent.
