New citizen
Kenneth Alvinsson became a New Zealand citizen on Thursday after a short ceremony in the Ohakune Borough Council chambers. The citizenship ceremony was conducted by the Mayor of Ohakune, Mr Bill Taylor, and after taking an affirmation of allegianceto Her Majestythe Queen, Kenneth was presented with his citizenship certificate. Kenneth is a native of Stiby, Sweden and has made a number of trips "back home" since first arriving in New Zealand in 1 98 1. He moved to Ohakune from Auckland four months ago and now lives in Miro Street.
