New for 'Tumblers'
The Turoa Tumblers have had the number of hours during which they can train at the Community Gymnasium, which is part of Ruapehu College, cut back. However, the Ohakune Karioi Rugby and Sports Club has come to the tumbler's rescue by oTfering them the use of their older building. The young athletes will use the rugby club's building — which they have voted to call 'the shed' to avoid confusion with the gym — for conditioning work. Ihe Tumbler's annual general meeting will be held at the Senior Studies Block at Ruapehu College tonight (Tuesday 26th February) and parents' presence at the meeting is a condition of membership. After the success of their display the Waimarino A & P Show last weekend, the Tumblers have agreed to give another display at the Desert Fair on 9th March.
I he Tumblers currently have about eighty members, from all over the Ruapehu
region. Although the club has only been in existence for
6(4 years, members have already achieved success in major national events.
