Police File

Ohakune Police and Taihape CIB are continuing to investigate a series of thefts which occurred at the Winstones Samsung pulp mill during December and January.

To date one person has been arrested and will be appearing in court on two charges of theft. Ohakune officers are also investigating a motor accident which occurred at the intersection of Clyde and Miro Street on Saturday 16 January when a parked vehicle was hit by a van. In Raetihi last week, there were a number of reports of petrol having been siphoned from vehicles and trucks. Police advise owners to buy locking petrol caps and other anti-theft devices to help prevent these thefts continuing.
