Sheep sale

Farmers from as far afield as Hawkes Bay and Feilding attended the annual aged ewe fair last Thursday. Eighteen thousand ewes were sold making the fair "a very satisfactory sale,"in the words of Mr Bruce Boswell, manager of Dalgety Crown in Raetihi. There was a good bench of buyers and the sale held up throughout, Bruce said. The highest price for a five-year-old was $26.60. Six-toothed ewes sold at $22.
