Gavin and his animals
When people go on holiday and leave their pets behind, that's when Gavin Knight, of Ohakune begins work. Gavin started up his animal-sitting business several months ago after he and his family moved to Ohakune from Carterton in the Wairarapa. The idea proved to be popular with Ohakune residents over the Christmas holidays with Gavin being kept busy walking dogs and feedings cats, . rabbits and budgies. Animals are not only Gavin's business, but also
his hobby — his own pets include four dachshunds, two huntaway dogs, several cats, rabbits, a goat, a cockatoo and a guinea pig!
Gavin also does odd jobs around the area — for the last two weeks he has been helping out in the kitchen at Robinsons Creek, Waiouru
for the duration of an army territorial camp. Before that he relieved in the Information Centre in Clyde Street.
