Midwife Angela to leave
Midwife, Angela Fahey, will be leaving Waimarino Hospital on 10 February after three years, in which time she helped to deliver at least 100 babies! Betty Longcroft, Principal Nurse at the Hospital, toldthe Bulletin last week that she personally feels very sad that Miss Fahey is leaving as she was not only a nice person but a very cheerful worker. Miss Fahey is uncertain as to her future plans but she is hopeful of returning to Australia where she had previously worked. She will also be missed by other residents at Orautoha where her family has a farm, as she was an integral member of the community as well as an important member of their netball side which enjoyed some success in the Senior 'B'competition last year. The Wanganui Hospital Board's Chief Nurse, Mrs Smail, has placed advertisements in newspapers around
the country in an effort to speedily replace Miss Fahey. Mrs Longcroft has requested two full time replacements
as the hospital needs further cover for their two part time midwives, Margaret Martin and Ngapania Te Hore.
