Mary Roberts Wright of Ohakune was sworn in as a Borough Councillor at a simple ceremony preceding last month's full meeting in the Ohakune Council Chambers. Mrs Wright had earlier won a byelection by the narrowest of margins from second highest polling candidate
Frank Taylor ... only one vote separated the two candidates. After the swearing-in ceremony Cr Wright was able to participate fully in the agenda set down for that evening ... she had previously attended Council meetings as an observer.
