Looking like a space-rocket on its launching pad the 40-tonne fully automated silo at the rear of Hurlstone's yard in Old Station Road, Ohakune. Metal aggregate goes into the bin at the left, cement powder is blown through a pipe into the container on the right. These ingredients meet in the middle where they are joined by water and are mixed together inside the truck that parks beneath the funnel shown. The control box at the rear, automatically determines the amount of water, cement and aggregate that are added together.
