Distance between Ohakune and Raetihi shortened
By the time these roadworks on the Ohakune- Raetihi Road north of the Lakes Road junction are completed the distance between Oha-
kune and Raetihi will be shorter ... by about 40 metres! This contract, worth $190,000, for the realignment of the road to eliminate two dangerous corners, is being carried out for the MOWD No. 8 (Wanganui) District Roads Board by Hurlstones of Ohakune and is expected to be completed early next year. It involves just over two acres of property previously owned by Ron Frew.
