Racing with BULLY
For the third week in a row we must again salute the lady wonder jockey Maree Lyndon, her effort midweek at Levin was three wins two seconds and a third, a marvellous effort which of course included the winning ride on the Bayer Classic winner Princess Dram. This was a thrilling race which saw two fillies Quinella the event. Without doubt Princess Dram is an extremely good racehorse and her feat several weeks ago when she won two very good races within 24 hours and several hundred kilometres apart will not be forgotten. The last two hundred metres of the Bayer was an exciting finish with the top colt, Kingdom Bay everything while Warwick Robinson was more hands and heels on Avana. Maree Lyndon was here usual well-balanced self as she nursed Princess Dram over that all important last little bit. In all a great event
which really did live up to its great build-up. Events like this really put racing in a strong spotlight. This weeks sees Avondale race in the north and one I believe will be suited by this roomy track will be Loizell. Delarene another Takanini hopeful likes this course and could show to advantage again. Amongst the Waikato horses Prince Avila and Seaweed are showing good form and could be ready for a dividend paying effort. Nicolove impressed at the trials recently while Jimbil could give a good account of himself if he lines up at Avondale. Nearer home we have the first day of the Manawatu Christmas meeting and we may even see Princess Dram out here again. What an attraction wh will be for any racing club at present. Good old faithful, Coronal never runs a bad race and he is certainly deserving a thick end of a stake anytime now. Many Things ran well at Levin and a repeat of that effort would certainly mean a share of things on her home track. Silver Elm might have an outing here also and her progress will be followed with great interest. Next week we will try and have sorted out some likely Christmas horses to follow, including the Auckland Cup. Remember Bully tips them first and you will read it in the Bulletin.
