'Kune carrot's clarion call

A carrot would get a ciog's life round here if he (she) didn't stand up for himself (herself). Some Ohakuneites may joke about me, but I have broad shoulders, and can carriot all. Jokesters should remember that the artery that takes the blood to the head is called the carotid artery. This means that I am not without brains and energy, vital to your

economy here. You ordinary people depend on us carrots for your very survival. One day, we may be the superior race. Standing there all day, I feel a bit like an inverted Aframe. On the other hand, I suppose an A-frame suffests an inverted carrot, planted upsidedown. Myownvision for Ohakune is a sea of carrots: V-frame homes, built after my own carrot shape. Someone should have invented the V-frame by now. I haven't blown over. Yet.

Standing there all bare, maybe I need a name and a face. Could I be Clarence in the meantime? Maybe Peter Hammond would like to name me and give me a friendly, smiling carroty face, one on each side of me, to cheer us all up and greet our surprised visitors from each approach along the main road. I call upon all rightthinking carrots to come out into the open like me and show the world we are not afraid. Clarence Carrot
