Dog's life

Waiouru's dog ranger advises dog owners to keep their animals under control during the coming summer holiday period. Dogs found roaming the streets will be impounded and a notice will be posted on the Community Centre notice board. .Dogs sold — if not claimed within seven days — remain the property of the buyer. Fines for failing to keep a dog under control are: $20 for the first offence; $40 for the second offence and $80 for the third and final offence. There is no fourth chance the dog is destroyed. In addition to these fines $5 is charged for each day the dog is in the pound.
