Local gymnasts honoured ANNUAL MIXED GOLF FOURSOMES
Turoa Tumbler coach, Glyn Hubbard, has been chosen as T our Manager for the New Zealand Junior Men's Under-15 team to tour Australia in May of next year. The team will be training at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, where Warren Scott trained three years ago. Warren was recently named Male Gymnast of the Year by the Wanganui/ Manawatu Gymnastic Association. Other Turoa Tumblers to receive trophies from the Association were: Junior (Female) Carys Hubbard. Novice (Male) Kenneth Mcllroy, Most Improved (Male) Allen Prince, Inter-. mediate (Male) Warren Scott. Deidre Hamon was first equal in the Grade 7 and 8 championships 9 years and over held at Palmerston North on 20 October. Her first placings in the vault, bars, floor and third equal on the beam gave her a total
of 35.01 and a gold medal. At the same meeting, Anna Chung came third and received a bronze medal. For-both girls, it was their first medal-winning performance and a great end to the competition season for the Turoa Tumblers.
Badge testing for girls and boys will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights of next week, while on Saturday 24 November, the Tumblers will be holding their annual . 'Open Morning' to raise funds for the Cancer Appeal.
Sunday 4 November Forty six couples started in the annual mixed foursomes Tourney with excellent course conditions. Players enjoyed good weather in the morning but a very heavy rain and hail shower early in the afternoon was most unpleasant.
