Ruapehu College tennis finalists

The finals of the Ruapehu College tennis champs were held in glorious conditions at the college on Tuesday 6 November. In the boys final, Matthew Mowat survived three match points at 4-5, in the third set against Robin Taylor before coming back to take the set and match at 7-5. Mowat had defeated defending champion and top seed, Jamie Dennison in the semi-finals. A tie-breaker in the second set of the girls' final between Vicki Pearce and Judy Kumeroa wrapped up the match for the top seeded Miss Pearce. Results: Boys M. Mowat b R. Taylor 6 -4, 1-6, 7-5. Girls V. Pearce b J. Kumeroa 6-3, 6-5.
