SKI SEASON EXTENDED
The ski season at Turoa has been extended until next Sunday. Only if there is an exceptionally heavy snowfall between now and then is it likely that the season will be further extended beyond that date — but this is most unlikely. Whakapapa closed at the end of last month and Mt Hutt, after the shortest-ever ski season — there was no skiable snow before midJuly — closed last Tuesday.
