This ewe is suckling her triplets simultaneously. In the UK where the Gardner family previously farmed, lambing percentages are higher and it is not uncommon for a ewe to have four lambs. It is towards this ability of a ewe with four well-developed teats to feed quadruplets that the Gardners are aiming as New Zealand's lambing percentages increase.
