Racing with BULLY

A heavy programme of racing over Labour Weekend saw the usual number of surprises and there were some very good dividends if on'ly they could be sorted out. Some of the trifectas too were very large and one of them brought great joy to three of our new TAB operators ... congratulations to Allan, Tracey and Gaye. Also at the Trentham

meeting our leading top jockey, David Walsh, had the misfortune to fall in a race and fracture his wrist. . In some ways it will not be as inconvenient as it would appear as he had already made a decision to take a short break from racing and to accompany his wife on a trip to Japan. We wish him well and trust that his injury will soon be soundly mended. Franklin races this Saturday and this is the meeting where all races are for a $20,000 purse. This promotion obviously is very attractive to Trainers and Owners alike and capacity fields will line up for sure. Bellerophon won last week at Rotorua but I expect him to go on to great things now. Sailorman has disappointed of late but he is too good to let go yet. Stay with him. Glenside is also trained to the minute and he

will be good to stick with. Over in Melbourne A1 Dwain ran a gallant race for his third in the Caulfield Cup and could figure in the finish of the Melbourne Cup if he holds his present form. Kiwi has had a slight set back but his trainer has high ' hopes that he will still be facing the starter on Cup day. Napier Park will be racing at Hastings and some very good horses are now racing into form in the Central Districts. It is a difficult time to try &nd [pickwinners with fresh horses and also varying track conditions. However it pays to remember that class will out so stay with the proven horses. Our special this week will most likely start at Hastings and it is Giveaway. Remember Bully tips them first ... and you have read it in the Bulletin.
