The annual A.H.I. sponsored Turoa-Waimarino 7 hole Tourney was played in spring weather and good course conditions. Although some players found the 9 hole Turoa Village course a bit hard to handle, some very good scores were recorded. Ladies Results 27 hole Nett (Chan Cup) N. Winter 96, Runner Up J. Christensen 102. 9 hole nett V. Whale 24, R. Goile 24!/2. 18 hole nett J. O'Neil 75, E. MacLean F. Whale A Swarbrick all 77. Mens Results 27 hole Nett (Byford Trophy) G. Harvey 90'/, G. Allerby 92, T. Geraghty 95|/2, P. Fitzgerald 96, P. Garret 97 on the toss from M. Mowatt T. Darroch and R. Wood. 9 hole Nett
T. Darroch 23, R. Gibbons 23'/, H. Manson 23'/. 18 hole Nett M. Mowatt 71, R. Southee 72, A.R. Brown. 9 Holes Gross (Silver Salver) D. Trotter 29. Thirteens were scored including two by S. Swarbrick. Sunday 21 October A small field played a par competition in variable weather. Top scores were: Senior S. Swarbrick and K. Tapp 1 up. Junior M. Mowatt 5 up, G. Robinson square, J. Strachan and R. Wise 1 down. No 2's were recorded on nominated holes.
