Plunket seat donated

Plunket car seat coordinator, Kathy Enright, received a new Bilbo safeseat valued at $130.50 from Lyall Reynolds of Reynolds Motors last week. The seat was donated by the firm after managing director, Trevor Reynolds, saw recent publicity about the scheme in the Bulletin. "Response so far has been reasonably good, but we still need more money as our waiting list continues to grow."said Mrs Enright. Ann Hercus, Minister of Social Welfare has added her support to the appeal locally and sent the following statement for publication. "Plunket- branches throughout New Zealand have shown their commit-

ment to child safety by making available children's car seats for rental. "This invaluable community service depends on donations and support from local individuals and groups. "Its success is shown by the enormous and ever growing demand reported by Plunket branches for the car safety seats. "It's more than a worthy cause — it can be a matter of life or death for young children involved in car accidents. All the evidence shows that children in car restraints have a much greater chance of escaping serious injury or surviving in accidents. "I urge the people of the Waimarino to give this. a'ppeal their fullest support."
