Spring wedding of local interest

A spring wedding of local interest was held in Taupo recently on 1 8 August at St Andrew's Anglican Church. The bride was Heather Jacobs, second daughter of Mr and Mrs John Jacobs, 'Birchlands' Rangitaiki, ancl Ewen, second son of Mr and Mrs Robert Lilburn of Raetihi. The church was decorated with bowls of arum lillies and spring blossom. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white bouffant gown of embroidered satin which was caught up on either side by a rose to reveal layers of

frilled tulle which formed a train. Her embroidered edged long veil was held by a spray of artificial roses and the bridal bouquet was of white and pink orchids, white carnations and freesias. Penny Jacobs, a cousin on the bride and Tracey Lilburn sister of the bridegroom were the bridesmaids. They wore frocks of burgundy satin with lace jackets and carried bouquets of pink and white orchids and pink carnations. Ewen was dressed in a white tuxedo suit and Raymond Berry of Raetihi was best man and Tony Hansby of Rangitaiki was groomsman. They wore light grey suits and had maroon carnation buttonholes. Ewen and Heather will be living on 'Otamatea Station' at Rangitaiki, Taupo.
