Intersection accident could have been serious

On the Saturday afternoon of Labour Weekend this car was seen to be travelling sideway's along Ohakune's Clyde Street before sideswiping a verandah post on the corner of Goldfinch Street, spinning around and them coming to rest in the

middle of the intersection. Staff at the Bulletin, who were putting together last week's edition of the paper, heard the slithering, sliding sound of tyres scraping against the road surface ... and waited for the inevitable crash.

When it happened we were relieved to find that neither another vehicle nor a pedestrian was involved on this sometimes busy intersection. As it was, only the driver was shaken but unhurt.
