BRASS BAND CONTEST

The Waimarino Brass Band held its junior solo contest at the Bandrooms in Moore Street on Saturday 29 September. Seven very nervous youngsters lined up to play a solo in front of a relatively large audience of parents and supporters. The contestants were Catherine Donaldson, Jimmy Samson, Dion Moore, James Keith, Richard Wilson, Peter Fetzer and Aaron Brebner. The adjudicators for the evening were Craig Walker from Ohakune and Jock Coleman from Wanganui. The Band raffle was drawn after the competitions and the winners were: B. Wilson of Miro Street and E. Marshall.
