Ski Festival week now on

As part of the Chateau Ski Festival Week which began at Whakapapa SkiField yesterday (Monday), what is possibly New Zealand's richest ski race will be held this Saturday. The dual slalom race will be held on the Knoll Ridge in view of the Knoll Cafeteria and will include some members of the New Zealand Ski Team which

leaves shortly for the European season. The men are competing for a total of $3,150 whilst the women share out $ 1 ,900. Non-skiing spectators can purchase an RAL sightseeing pass for $3.00 to watch the event from the Knoll Cafeteria. The event is sponsored by Peter Stuyvesant, a company that supports skiing in the U.S.A. and Europe.
