Peace Groups

Re letter to Editor published 25 September by Paul Beckett representing the Waimarino Peace Group. What a pathetic excuse Mr Beckett has for wanting a protest. Surely he must see we have a police force to maintain law and order. Our armed forces are to maintain peace. This exercise is with our friends of the world. We need friends of the world to survive economically. The narrow view of these peace groups amazes me. Why don't they campaign for 'thief-free' areas and throw away all their locks. Mind you this probably wouldn't matter to most of the people in these groups.

They've probably got nothing to lose anyway. Now they want to give away our country as well.

G.
