Racing with BULLY

We certainly have had a feast of racing lately and with the tracks changing so rapidly from firm through heavy there have been a number of upsets in form. One that is hard to take was last week's performance at Hastings in the Ormond Gold Cup of Debs Mate. His form recently has not been good and only four days

previously he had finished last on the same course, the same distance and his usual jockey. Admittedly the track was heavier on the second day but it does seem strange. No, I did not back him on either day but obviously somebody did on the second day and I don't think it was the oncourse punter. Kingdom Bay proved his class with a fine win in the guineas and so ended

Avana's chance of taking out the $100,000 bonus by winning the three guinea races in the lower part of the North Island. You may recall that after Wanganui I commented that Kingdom Bay was one run short there and I felt sure that he would win from there on. Stick with this fellow. Another to win impressively at Wanganui was Belanchine, a Balak-Castle-dancer filly from Kevin Foley's stable at Pukekohe who has since won her next two starts in just as impressive a manner as her first win. She is in the same stable as Fothers so Mr Foley could be in for some nice returns. Some more to mark down and watch from now on to add to last week's list are ... Our Boyfriend, Our IUusion, Out In Front, Pauls Gold, Reutemann, Rich Rogue, Roimac, Romantic Bay, Ruvain, Saddlelight, Sandhurst, Secured Deposit, Silver March, Silver Print, Silverroider, Silver Row, Smart Devil, Sovereigns Ace, Sweet Nell, Tall Boy, Tomsk, Tom Thumb, Under The Clock, Vivacious, Whitole, Whimsey. This Saturday sees the Otaki Maori Racing Club racing at Otaki and two from the Levin area who could well show up here are Zelazny and Diamond Prince while from Foxton Call It Quits is ready to salute the judge. Aptitude and Lomondy from Awapuni are working attractively and could pay for their spring feed. Remember Bully tips . them first and you will read it in the Bulletin.
