Beetle basher belts bonnet

A Volkswagon Beetle car belonging to a Taihape man at present living and working in Ohakune was the subject of a wanton act of mindless vandalism on a recent Monday evening while it was parked in Seddon Street. One of the rubbish tins along the street was removed from its post and used to bang and dent the bonnet. Repairs are likely to cost between $60-80. When reported to police the car's owner was told there was very little chance of catching the culprits ... "it happens all the time!"
