Raetihi auction well attended
The Dalgety Crown 'Furniture and Sundries' auction at the Waimarino A&P Showgrounds in Raetihi on Saturday 1 5 September attracted a large number of bargain hunters and interested observers. Out of the 250 lots offered to a good sized crowd, almost a complete clearance in prices ranging from 50 cents for a settee, $200 for brass double bed ends, to $435 for a Fatso stove was achieved. Bargains of the day were:a box of at least 25 l.p records for $6, two chairs for $1, and a very tidy formica table and 4 chairs for $50. Two of the bigger items passed in were a Series 1 Land Rover, and a 14'6" boat, outboard motor, trailer and accessories (asking price $ 1 1 00) a cheap unit in the auctioneers' opinion.
