The Junction Ski Shop staged a combined sausage sizzle and champagne breakfast on the footpath outside their premises in Thames Street to commemorate Fathers Day. Mike Wiggins (centre) estimated, from the number of sausages consumed, that about 200 people turned up for breakfast in the early morning sunshine before heading for the slopes. Dave Campbell, left, of Ruapehu Radio was there as well as the 'Martini Man', who hails from America.
