ARSON REWARD

Confirmation that the reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the Raetihi arsonist who started a series of fires at the McCann family home is carried in today's Public Notices. The reward, which until now has not been positively confirmed by the police is now to be administered by them, using monies voluntarily pledged by the Raetihi community. A total of $3000 has been pledged by residents and ratepayers of Raetihi. In addition to this sum, a further $1000 has been offered by the Truth newspaper's 'Secret Witness Scheme' making a total of $4000 to anyone who can provide the police with information about the mysterious series of fires in Raetihi earlier this year.
