End of soccer season

Waimarino United completed their season on Sunday 2 September by losing to Taihape 7-4. With only nine people on the paddock, Waimarino were facing an uphill task throughout. Taihape quickly went into a 2-0 lead with goals from

Kevin McMahonand Richard Bell and shortly before half time Gary McMillan scored a 'dubious' goal for visitors, Waimarino. The second half produced eight goals, with Richard Bell and Chris George completing hat tricks for Taihape.

The Waimarino players tired noticeably and all were pleased to hear the final whistle go. James Waierea scored a delightful goal whilst Gary McMillan scored two more to give him a well deserved hat trick.
