RED CROSS FILLS NEED
The annual general meeting of the Waimarino Red Cross Society will be held on the 20 September (See Public Notices). Sue Kumeroa, welfare officer for the Society said recently that the local Red Cross assists in many ways. They provide emergency bedding and welfare, they help with transport and come to people's aid in the event lof fire, flood or other desperate circumstances. In addition, they provide roadside emergency kitsets around the region. Whilst they are probably one of the smallest Society branches they are still able to.fill a valuable need in the community.
