Whole lotta shakin' goin' on

The Ruapehu region has been shaken awake in the past week or so by the zany radio style of well known actor and broadcaster, Keith Richardson. Keith has been filling in on the breakfast show at Ruapehu Radio and has brought with him his own jingles, some made in Canada, the rest in New Zealand. Born in England, Keith emigrated to New Zealand while still young. He became interested in acting when he left school although he was not able to earn enough from that to support himself. He then entered the broadcasting field and has worked on and off for Radio New Zealand and private radio stations for twentyfive years. He recently played a shady accountant in a movie called 'Checkmate' based on the Mr Asia inquiry. Keith is no stranger to 'baddy' roles. He has also been seen on our screens in 'Close to Home' and more recently in 'Country G.P.'as a con-man.
"This town needs a little bit of shaking" says Keith Richardson. "I like to entertain people. I don't want them to know what is coming next!" Keith will hopefully be here till the end of the season, but he has told Station Manager, Dave Campbell, that if an acting job comes his way he will go. In the meanwhile, Keith Richardson continues to entertain Ruapehu Radio listeners with his unique broadcasting style.
