BUSH FATALITY

For the second time in the last five months a man has been killed while felling trees in Winstone Afforestation's Pipiriki block west of Raetihi. He was Mr Nepia Dewes, 45, of Turangi. He was a forestry worker and was in a gang working on contract clearing native bush at the time of the accident. Constable Brian Wilson of Ohakune said that it appeared that Mr Dewes had cut down a tree which hrought down a second tree as it fell. - Police and Labour Department offers are investigating in some detail, said constable Wilson.
