One year on — still no sign of Turners
Monday, 30 July marked the first anniversary of the disappearance of the Turner family of National Park. No trace has yet been found of Roy Turner, his wife Anne, and their children Kim and Guy, whose Cessna aircraft was lost on a flight from Tekapo to Fox Glacier last year. Over 18 aircraft searched an area of the Southern Alps
for the family, who were combining a business and holiday trip to the South Island during a quiet period at Whakapapa and National Park. Both Roy Turner and his wife were experienced pilots. Friends of the Turner family raised over $25,000 to fund further private searches in helicopters and aircraft after the official search was called off.
