Raetihi rate arrears too high
At last week's meeting of the Raetihi Borough Council Cr. Andrew Cornwall drew Couneil's attention to the fact that Raetihi's rates arrears for the 1983-1984 financial year were in excess of $40,000 and this was an unacceptably high proportion. Mayor Garrick Workman agre.ed saying that "while some of these rates have since been paid, any outstanding rates for last year when the first of this year's four rate instalments were due, was unacceptably high."
