Figuratively speaking...

The figures we published last week for the King Country Electorate were taken from Alan McRobie's book entitled 'Election 84'. They included the votes that would have been recorded in 1981 had the boundary changesvbeen the same as -they are for this 1984 election. Had the boundaries not been changed between 1981 and 1984 the figures would have been: National 7937 Socred 5779 Labour 2460 as they were gazetted for the former King Country boundary. But the boundaries have changed — significantly — and on the basis of these changes the votes would have been recorded as we published them: National 9083 Socred 5448 Labour 2668 under the present King Country boundaries.
