Saturday's games at Ruapehu College were played in cold and drizzly conditions which saw many passes go to ground as the ball became heavier. Raetihi "A\ ieaders in the senior competition. were severely tested by their opponents MG's before coming out on top 26-20. At one stage, it was 1 9-20 to Raetihi but coach Wayne Tehuia urged his players to open up the game by throwing long passes and distributing the ball quicker. To their credit, the players did this and were able to hang on for another victory. Player of the Day was MG's Goal Attack, Gay Nation, who in bitter conditions played an excellent
game. evading her marker constantly. whilst her shooting was of the highest quality. Raetihi remain clear Ieaders with their unbeaten record thus far. although they recently had two points deducted for playing a person in an unregistered uniform. Mr Tehuia feels his players have been successful both this season and last, because of their strict training schedule. They meet twice a week on Wednesday's and Friday's and work on their ball skills and fitness. The 'B' team is leading in the Senior 4B' competition after their dominant form against Orautoha on Saturday. The latter were beaten 29-1 1 in what was a rather one-sided game.
The other two games played saw Karioi defeat Central in Senior 'A' 13-11, whilst Ramblers recovered from an early loss of Denise Searle through a thumb injury, to thrash Raetihi C, 255, in Senior 'B\
