Damaged Road Services Bus
Damage caused to the southbound NZR Road Services bus when it skidded on ice on the Desert Road three weeks ago (we ran the story in the Waimarino Bulletin on 26 June) is expected to cost about $30,000 to repair. Since the accident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday morning 18 June, the front panel of the bus has been partly repaired in Rotorua to enable it to be driven south to New Zealand Motor Bodies Ltd in Palmerston North to complete the extensive repairs. Last Tuesday night, under cover of darkness it left Rotorua at 6.00pm for thc drive to Palmerston North.
