New Motorcamp for Waiouru

Mr and Mrs Spicks have come back to Waiouru to open a Motorcamp. It will be situated where the former Waiouru Taxi cabins are on the corner of Ngaruahoe Street and SH49. For the last five years Max and Ivy Spicks have been living in Wanganui, managing the Arambho Motorcamp. They have had a long association with Waiouru where, 1 4 years ago, they ran Waiouru Taxis, rental cars

and a newspaper agency. Now they are back to give the cabins a facelift with old cabins being redecorated and plans to build 8 new cabins. A newablution block is also planned. The camping grounds will have sites for 16 caravans with some caravans permanently on site. The Spicks hope to attract tourist trade from both the Army Museum and the mountain.
